Tyrese – Open Invitation (Album Review)

Releasing his 5th studio album Open Invitation is every sense of the word inviting.  In a time where some people may say there aren’t too many “Hot” or relevant R&B artist producing quality music, Tyrese definitely makes a statement.  Starting with his single “Stay” which is a personal favorite, Tyrese lays it all on the table showing a vulnerable side pleading with the love in his life to just be patient with him and stay by his side despite the good and bad.  The album is full of smooth feel-good love songs that are a classic staple for an artist such as Tyrese.  I feel that he found his niche with this album in comparison with his prior project “Alter Ego” and the introduction of Black Ty.  Tyrese’s growth as an artist just adds to the great listening experience this project offers.  Another favorite record is his other single “Too Easy” Ft. Ludacris.  This track is laced with a smooth arrogance that only Tyrese could deliver, over an upbeat tempo.  Definitely something you would hear while in the club.  Aside from the singles released I would recommend “Angel”, “Make Love” & “I Miss That Girl”, all different tracks with distinct sounds that speak to a different emotion we can all relate to.  Open invitation is easily a straight through album, with great production, and a solid sound.
